YouTube is a popular venue for many causes and this week
the APCW (The Association of Players, Casinos and Webmasters) takes initiative
against the UIGEA and makes critical statements of the U.S. Governments anti
gambling movements, in particular the ban of players at online casinos.
The video graphically shows images of the devastation of war and poverty and
touts that the government's lack of empathy concerning these conditions. The
deterioration of conditions is likened to the deterioration of personal rights
by the governments' passing of secret bills that slowly tap the personal
freedoms afforded the U.S. citizens. Online Gambling is just the latest target
of the government as they have waged their own war against it.
To date the video has more than 12,000 views and is growing in popularity daily.
The message, Why do we fight? Because the only other option is...not to. J Todd,
administrator of APCW, produced the video and also hosts a weekly series called
Perspectives Weekly which covers many aspects of gambling, online and offline.
The APCW has a magazine covering many of the same issues and has thousands of
loyal readers.
The APCW is a players advocate and is dedicated to players' rights, started in
2003, they have been partnered with other player advocacy sites such as IGC and
iGaming Business and the Poker Players Alliance. Their first goals were to test
gambling software, audit online casinos and to stand as a strong advocate for
