Popular Online Casino's Ad Under Fire
Ladbrokes Casino decided it was time to send their first online gambling ad to
the world of television. After a lot of build up and press the ad has run into
some problems. It is being investigated because there have been complaints that
they are targeting young men and that the ad plays up to the male ego and peer
pressure side of things.
Although there haven't been a lot of complaints about the ad, under 5, the
Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has decided that they are going to look
into things and that they were significant enough to be researched. It has been
said by an ASA official that they don't need to reach a certain number of things
to have the authority to investigate. The complaints were that it was a clear
encouragement and irresponsible. The ASA is worried that since the ad used some
'famous' people that people are more likely to do as they see than they normally
would.
