Online casinos are a money tree. The fruits of this tree,
at one point in time, were a life line to all breeds of public relations firms,
web portals, and handicapping sites. New legislation in the United States
has
not only hit the online casinos themselves, it hit everyone in the US online
casino industry.
January saw the withdrawal of NETeller, MyCitadel, and
PinnacleSports from the US online casino market.
When PinnacleSports packed their bags, the sports betting
industry lost out on exceptional customer conversion rates. Many affiliates
relied on PinnacleSports’ offers.
NETeller’s departure was no small deal for the online
casino industry. Some enterprises may never recover from the crippling blow.
Even sites well entrenched in online casino affiliate
programs, have admitted to dwindling ad dollars during this online casino
industry transition. Many have looked toward Europe to supplement income.
Unavoidable changes will be witnessed in the next year.
Players in the online casino industry will either downsize severely or
disappear. However, gamblers need not worry. Industry support ventures,
operators, and the US government are all looking for a way to get a piece of the
billion dollar online casino industry.
